Pastor Sheila L. Scott
Reverend Scott is married to Michael Scott who is both loving and supportive of what God is doing in her life. She is an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) who has severed as pastor at St. John A.M.E. Church in Kenneth, Missouri; Bethel A.M.E. in Caruthersville, Missouri and currently pastoring Imani A.M.E. since February 2014.
Pastor Scott holds a Master of Divinity from Aquinas Institute of Theology on the campus of Saint Louis University, a Master of Business Administration from Fontbonne University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She considers herself a life-learner and is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others.
Reverend Scott desires to please God with her life has been evident from her youth. At the age of nineteen, she accepted her calling into ministry. She has been blessed to have many opportunities to minister to the people of God in various ecumenical settings. Pastor Scott had this to say about preaching:
“Preaching the Word of God is life giving it should transform lives and reveal God’s grace toward humanity. This transformation, nonetheless, must take place within the life of the preacher in order to effectively encourage others to move beyond the status-quo.” Therefore, with her many accomplishments she remains grounded in her faith, in the words of an old song, “only what you do for Christ will last.”
Reverend Scott, believes the church is, “A Place Where Everyone Matters.” On a mission to win souls for Christ, serving Christ by serving the least:
“For I was hungry–you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty–you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger–you invited me in, I needed clothes–you clothed me, I was sick–you looked after me, I was in prison–you came to visit me…(Matthew 25:31-46).”
When we have done it for the least of our brothers and sisters, we do it unto Christ. As members of the body of Christ we are:
“Christ centered, WORD driven and Mission minded.”
